Baseball Home Plate Slide

New Candidate Umpire Training Class

The NCMBUA is currently looking for new umpire candidates for the 2023 training class. Similar to 2022 there will be multiple sessions of the classroom running right up through the start of the baseball season. The training consists of virtual classes, mechanics clinics and a state certified exam. Session 1 is scheduled for Mondays and will begin Monday 2/27/2023 and run for 5 total classes  2 hours each from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and a mechanics clinic.  The cost for the class is $125. If interested please contact Bob Cutting (Trainer NCMBUA) at ncmbua@gmail.com or by messaging via this site. Please submit your interest no later than Sunday 2/26/2022. If you do not make it for the first session but are still interested please reach out to the contact provided and you will be provided with information on the next session or even a training tailored to your own schedule.

Class #04: 03/20 6:30-8:30pm - Mechanics

Class #05: 03/27 6:30-8:30pm - Review & Exam

Upon completion of the class new umpires will be certified to umpire all amateur levels of baseball from MIAA high school varsity and sub-varsity, including AAU down to Little League and Cal Ripken as well as summer leagues such as Sr. Ruth, Legion and Stan Musial men's leagues.

2023 Jr. Umpire Virtual Classroom & Mechanics Clinic

The NCMBUA are looking to recruit interested individuals between the ages of 13-18 to umpire local minor league youth baseball games. Games are played on weeknights and weekends. We need junior umpires to help their local community an hopefully become the next generation of umpires. Accept only the games that work for your schedule. Junior umpires are paid $30-$35 per game. The cost of the virtual training and clinic is just $30 per umpire. If interested or have any questions please email ncmbua@gmail.com

During these meeting the primary focus will be on a refresher of the NFHS rules which the MIAA and Baseball Committee adopted for the 2020 season and updates from 2022 and 2023.
